Raising awareness and taking action for more responsible tourism
External awareness-raising
La Réserve de Beaulieu & Spa aims to involve all its stakeholders in its environmental and social responsibility initiatives, taking an approach based on awareness-raising, discretion and leading by example.
Awareness-raising among our guests
Throughout their stay, our guests are discreetly and gently made aware of practices that help limit their environmental impact, such as:
Reusing towels and bed linen, depending on the guest’s preferences
Controlling water and energy consumption;
Reducing and recycling waste, by providing recycling bins in the rooms, for example;
Smart air-conditioning management, which automatically cuts off when windows are opened;
Providing information on and highlighting the environmental and social solidarity initiatives led by the establishment.
Awareness-raising among our suppliers and partners
Our approach also extends to our suppliers and partners, with particular attention paid to:
Local sourcing and short supply chains;
Selecting local and seasonal products;
Promoting local producers and artisans;
Collaborating with service providers who share our environmental and social values and commitments.
This approach is reflected in particular through collaborations with organisations such as ‘Producteurs Réunis’, the ‘21 Paysans’ cooperative, and a honey producer based in La Colle-sur-Loup, helping to foster engagement with local stakeholders.
Highlighting our regional natural and gastronomic heritage
Situated in the heart of the Côte d’Azur, La Réserve de Beaulieu & Spa is deeply committed to preserving its environment and the local area.
In this way, we aim to play a part in introducing our guests to the richness, diversity and fragility of the Mediterranean coastline, while showcasing local craftsmanship and produce.
This commitment is reflected in particular on our restaurant menus, which highlight local, seasonal produce sourced via short supply chains, offering our guests an authentic introduction to the region’s culinary heritage.
Internal awareness-raising
La Réserve de Beaulieu & Spa ensures its environmental and social commitments are put into practice on a daily basis by raising awareness among employees and encouraging all teams to adopt best practices.
Raising awareness of eco-friendly habits
Regular team briefings remind everyone of best practices and raise awareness of resource management:
Controlling water consumption, specifically through the gradual installation of automatic sensors on certain taps in areas reserved for employees;
Reducing electricity consumption, including by installing motion detectors in several internal areas;
Sensible management of heating and air conditioning, for example through installing air-conditioning cut-off systems in relevant areas (particularly staff accommodation);
Raising general awareness of everyday eco-friendly practices, in order to embed environmental actions into the professional practices of each department.
This initiative is set to continue and be progressively expanded, with, for example, systems enabling better consumption control across all areas concerned.
Onboarding and integration of new employees
Awareness-raising begins as soon as new employees arrive.
They are given a welcome pack to introduce them to the establishment, its values, its operations and its commitments. An event designed to present the hotel and its history is also held two days before opening, allowing everyone to gain a better understanding of La Réserve de Beaulieu & Spa’s identity, heritage, and the values that underpin its guest experience.
PROJECTS AND ACTION: La Réserve de Beaulieu & Spa integrates its CSR strategy into a process of continuous improvement, involving staff in the establishment’s key initiatives, prioritising their wellbeing and enhancing their working conditions.
Improving workspaces and working conditions
Complete renovation of the main kitchen, alongside the creation of a dedicated bread and pastry area, to optimise workflow and working conditions for the teams.
Involving permanent staff in planning the new layout of equipment, with everyone invited to contribute to designing the new plans and to share their needs and observations regarding their work.
Incorporating into renovation and fit-out projects considerations that aim to prevent physical strain, ensure ergonomic workstations, and improve employees’ day-to-day lives.
Training and responsible practices
Training kitchen teams in waste recycling, combating food waste, and making the most of produce.
Educating teams about and adopting practices to reduce wastage, optimise raw material usage and maximise resources.
Employee engagement and voice
La Réserve de Beaulieu & Spa aims to include its employees fully in its CSR strategy by:
Providing a suggestions box, enabling everyone to put forward ideas and initiatives for improving the establishment’s environmental, social and organisational practices.
Encouraging participation and dialogue to develop solutions directly derived from the teams’ experience and expertise.
Taking into account staff proposals as part of a process of continuously improving the establishment’s practices.
