Mindful of the richness and fragility of its Mediterranean environment, La Réserve de Beaulieu & Spa is committed to preserving and fostering biodiversity in its outdoor spaces.
As part of this initiative, several concrete actions have been implemented to create an environment that nurtures local flora and fauna:
Installing bird boxes, to encourage birds to visit and nest in our gardens.
Establishing insect hotels, providing refuges and nesting sites for beneficial insects, which are essential to the natural balance of ecosystems;
Planting and showcasing Mediterranean species, prioritising plants adapted to the climate and the specific characteristics of our area;
Preserving plant diversity in our landscaped areas, by prioritising planting suited to the local environment wherever possible.
Managing and reducing solid waste
Committed to reducing its environmental footprint and limiting waste generation, La Réserve de Beaulieu & Spa applies various measures for reducing single-use packaging, promoting reuse, and developing waste sorting and recycling practices.
Reducing the use of individual packaging: guest amenities and bathroom products are, wherever possible, provided in large refillable containers, significantly limiting the amount of disposable packaging;
Organic waste recovery: implementation of composting to promote the transformation of biowaste into a resource (in partnership with the Beaulieu-sur-Mer town council);
Reducing paper consumption: providing our guests with access to digital newspapers and magazines, limiting paper waste;
Reducing the use of single-use plastic bottles: eliminating single-use plastic water bottles wherever possible and, where their use remains necessary, using bottles made from 100% recycled materials;
Raising awareness among employees and our guests of best practices for reducing, sorting and recycling waste
Natural resources
Mindful of the need to preserve natural resources, La Réserve de Beaulieu & Spa implements various measures to manage its water and energy consumption, while prioritising practices that respect its Mediterranean environment.
Water conservation: our swimming pool is a seawater pool, helping to limit the use of fresh water;
Managing energy consumption: rollout of LED lighting throughout the establishment to reduce electricity consumption;
Automatic lighting cut-out: lighting in communal areas and rooms is fitted with systems that automatically switch them off when not required;
Responsible energy management: equipment is used with a focus on controlling consumption, while maintaining the level of comfort and service expected by our guests;
Promoting seasonal produce: our menus prioritise seasonal produce wherever possible, in line with natural production cycles and with the aim of encouraging more responsible consumption;
Raising employees’ awareness of best practices for conserving water, energy and natural resources day-to-day.
Pollution, reducing emissions and carbon footprint
As part of our commitment to limiting the establishment’s environmental impact, La Réserve de Beaulieu & Spa is implementing various initiatives aimed at reducing emissions resulting from its operations and preserving the quality of its environment.
Electric vehicle: an electric vehicle is provided for the operational journeys, enabling a reduction in travel-related emissions;
Vehicle charging: providing electric vehicle charging stations to support our guests and employees in using cleaner modes of transport;
Reducing travel-related emissions: encouraging the use of transport options with a lower environmental impact, wherever possible;
Choice of cleaning products: prioritising products with a lower environmental impact wherever possible, while meeting the establishment’s hygiene and quality standards;
Preserving indoor air quality: regular maintenance of ventilation and air conditioning systems to ensure a comfortable and healthy environment;
Noise control: close attention is paid to the establishment’s activities and equipment to preserve the peace of our guests, staff, and neighbours.
Monthly monitoring of electricity and gas consumption, enabling any changes to be identified, potential anomalies detected, and practices adapted to better manage consumption.
Optimising heating and air conditioning, specifically with automatic air-conditioning cut-off systems connected to the windows, preventing the air-conditioning from running when windows are open;
Sensible temperature management across the establishment’s various areas, while maintaining the level of comfort expected by our guests.
Responsible purchasing
Committed to its region and the quality of products provided to its guests, La Réserve de Beaulieu & Spa prioritises responsible purchasing whenever possible, favouring short supply chains, local expertise and nearby producers.
Short supply chains, prioritising suppliers and producers located close to the establishment;
Partnership with local fishermen, showcasing seafood products from our region and supporting the local economy;
Collaboration with small local producers, championing artisanal production and local expertise;
Promoting seasonal products, by prioritising produce aligned with natural production cycles;
Reducing transport distances, where compatible with our quality and service standards;
Reducing packaging, particularly by preferring bulk packaging, reusable containers, or delivery solutions that generate less waste;
Selecting products from responsible or certified sources, where relevant: organic farming, sustainable fishing, environmental labels or recognised certifications;
Long-term relationships with our suppliers, wherever possible, prioritising partnerships based on trust, consistency and high-quality products.
